There is a method to this madness. All 7 New England based MMA promotions get one vote where they rank the top 10 fighters within each weight class for both professional and amateur. 7-10 New England based MMA media members also receive one vote. The final piece of the puzzle is the fan vote. Combining everyone's vote in an equal manor allows us to formulate these rankings. It's not a perfect science, but it gives us a pecking order in New England, and also gives us something to argue about until the next rankings are released.
