Team Link Hooksett
Fighting out of "The Factory of Champions" under the tutelage of New England MMA legend Ed Carr, Kenny Murphy is one of the Team Link Hooksett “OG’s.” Once one of the region’s more promising Flyweight prospects, following an impressive 5-1-1 amateur career, where he captured the Cage Titans Flyweight Amateur Title with a Unanimous Decision victory over Remo Cardarelli at Cage Titans 13. After a razor thin Split-Decision loss to Jay Perrin at Combat Zone 47 in January of 2014, Kenny turned pro later that year and struggled to gain his footing at Flyweight, dropping his first two pro fights at 125. Murphy turned his record around in his next two bouts, both fought up in weight class, earning a Decision over Jeff Silva at Combat Zone 63 and backing it up with a first round submission finish of Rob Fuller at Combat Zone 69. Kenny and his Team Link entourage made their most recent walk to the cage at Combat Zone 71 where Murphy lost a closely contested bout against up and coming Bantamweight prospect; Andres Rodriguez.
As mentioned, Murphy has been at Carr’s Team Link in Hooksett for over a decade, originally gaining notoriety for his stand up and boxing techniques, Kenny has been molding himself into a well rounded Martial Artist, training alongside fellow New England Veterans; Nick Alley, Kerri Kenneson and Walter Smith-Cotito, under the direction of Carr and Brent Kinberger. Kenny hopes that with the turn of the calendar and help from his nutritionist, 2021 can mark the resurrection of Kenny Murphy in the Flyweight division, a division where he triumphed during his successful amateur career.
