*Updated* With New England MMA fans and fighters clamoring for an end to the now six month layoff in regional action it, gives the entire staff at NewEnglandMMA.org great pleasure to announce that there may very well be an end in sight. Sources close to the site have learned that Classic Entertainment and Sports (CES) have been looking to clear the final hurdles with the State of Rhode Island to make a return to action with a tentative return date of October 16th. Although the location of the event has not yet been determined we have heard rumblings that CES has reached out to a number of private facilities, in efforts to host a fight card with the UFCfightpass production team, while also remaining socially distant and responsible for the safety of their fighters and crew.
Furthermore NEMMA has learned details of the potential Main Event that will headline CES's return. Who better to headline CES's return to UFCfightpass than Welterweight Superstar John Gotti III (5-0, 4 first round Knockouts, Long Island MMA)? Gotti, who needs no introduction to MMA fans, has quickly established himself as one of the promotions biggest stars, going 5-0 under the CES banner and doing so with vicious intent. Although he shares the name of his grandfather, former Gambino family boss, John Gotti, Gotti III is looking to leave his own legacy. A legacy that will kick itself into high gear as Gotti III eyes his sixth professional victory in what is being billed as the main event in CES's return in a Welterweight scrap against New England MMA Welterweight Veteran Nick "JC" Alley (6-3, Team Link Hooksett).
