Dexter MMA's (Groton, Connecticut) Billy Goff (7-2, CES Welterweight and Middleweight World Champion) won his third consecutive regional title at CES 67 last Friday night in Hartford Connecticut. Goff dispatched CES Middleweight Contender Justin "The Fort" Sumter (8-4) in the second round of their Middleweight Title Main Event. At just 23 years of age, Goff is the hottest prospect in the region, there I said it, winner of his last 5 bouts, including 4 knockouts, Billy has captured a different regional belt in each of his last three contests.
In November of 2021 Goff made quick work of Marty Navis (5-2) TKOing him in the first round to capture the vacant Cage Titans Welterweight title. Goff was back just four months later, this time squaring off with Gary "Batman" Balletto Jr. (7-3) at CES 66 for the vacant CES Welterweight World Title. Goff experienced similar results against Balletto, battering him with strikes, notching another first round stoppage and adding another regional Welterweight title to his collection.
Then, when injury forced Eric Spicely (12-8) from his Middleweight Title bout with Justin Sumter at CES 67, the newly crowned Welterweight Champion stepped up on short notice to challenge Sumter for the belt. And almost like Goff spoke it into existence, Billy was able to survive a tough opening round against the much larger Sumter before going on the offensive himself in the second round, finishing Sumter with elbows and capturing the vacant CES Welterweight World title. Billy caught up with our Steve Domenico following his third title win at CES 67 to discuss "What's next?" for the regions most dangerous man. Check out the entire post fight interview below...
