Breaking News - NewEnglandMMA.org has confirmed with New England’s #9 ranked Pro Heavyweight Ras Hylton (5-4) and his camp that the 6’7” Hylton has indeed signed to fight for Bellator MMA this Friday at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut at Bellator 242 Bandejas vs. Pettis. Dragon Fire Martial Arts and First Class MMA’s Hylton will be replacing Steve Mowry (7-0) who failed to gain medical clearance to compete, in a Heavyweight bout against Team Quest Portland (Oregon)’s Rudy Schaffroth (6-1) a three fight Bellator MMA veteran who is coming off the only loss of his career to rising star Tyrell Fortune (8-1) at Bellator 225 in August of last year. For Hylton, he will be taking a huge step in his career as he goes from regional contender to the bright lights of the Bellator MMA cage but it's just another test of his skill for Ras Hylton as he continues to pit himself against the finest competition the MMA game can throw at him. Schaffroth is another dangerous opponent, having finished all six of his career wins, 5 of those finishes coming by Knockout. Hylton the owner of 4 career knockout finishes of his own across the CES and NEF promotions here in New England, will hope to use his hands as the difference maker in this one, as the “Rasquatch” takes a leap of faith, and a huge opportunity as he ‘shoots for the moon’ in his Bellator debut!

The Bellator 242 Main Card will air Live Friday night on Paramount Network starting at 10pm eastern time, it has not been confirmed but it appears Hylton will fight on the preliminary card which is typically streamed on Facebook or the Bellator MMA app.
