Post Fight Interview: Colin Robinson claims inaugural Cage Titans Muay Thai gold

Mashpee, Massachusetts stand up!! Your boy just made history. Colin "Superman" Robinson (5-1 AM MMA, 1-0 Muay Thai) finally got the chance to compete in front of his hometown crowd on Saturday night at Plymouth Memorial Hall. Robinson's first 6 fights have all come out the region in Tennessee and the Netherlands, but when Mike Polvere came calling for Colin's services to battle current amateur MMA middleweight champ Jideofor Ojukwu for the strap close to his hometown of Mashpee, it was a no-brainer. Unfortunately the Ojukwu fight fell through, but Polvere had a backup plan pitting "Superman" against the current NoBoundary Fights Muay Thai champ, and most recent person to defeat Ojukwu, Lamon Payne (7-5 Muay Thai) for the inaugural Cage Titans Amateur Muay Thai Middleweight Championship.

Robinson and Payne battled it out over the course of 5 hard fought rounds, exchanging in the center of the cage for most of the fight. Robinson's cardio and output seemed to be the difference in the fight, as he started to outland Payne with consistency in rounds 2 through 5. The Team Link Muay Thai standout now takes some another piece of hardware to place next to his Valor Fighting Middleweight belt on his mantle back in Worcester.

We caught up with Colin (and his mom) after the fight to get his thoughts on the scrap, and what we should expect from him in the near future.
